History of my I search
This idea started way back for me, I can remember when I was 7 or 8 years old and when my parents would take me camping, hiking, canoeing and anything else you can imagine. We would take off on a Friday night and we wouldn't come home until Sunday evening. When ever we went on a new adventure we always had the better time compared to the last time. My sister and I would go out hunting on the lawn of our campsite to find the oddest looking and prettiest flower. She always beat me at that, because she was older and she knew what would be prettier. Even if it rained the whole weekend we would still have a good time and be able to find new things to do that we have never done in the outdoors. This continued all the way up to my high school career.
While in high school the only thing I really enjoyed doing was going to my fourth period class. The class was like a gym class, but you didn't have to change your clothes every hour, and you never really had to bring deoderant with you because you were afraid of how bad you would smell for the rest of the day. The name of this class was outdoor education. It is what it sounds like, it is education of the outdoors. The outdoors, something I love. I am sure you are asking yourself, what do you learn about? and why did I like it so much?
I liked the class so much because everyone had a good time and the way it was taught. We never had to sit in a row in front of the teacher with a chalk board behind him and have to raise your hand when you had a question to be answered. We could sit on top of our desks, in a circle and we could speak whenever we wanted, and it didn't have to be something sophisticated. We always had a good time in that class. We learned so much too, we learned how to treat a person with an injury, paddle in white water, ski and how to trust other people that you barely even know. We did things that you wouldn't think high schools would allow teachers to do with students without an insurance policy.
As you can see I have spent a good portion of my life in the outdoors. I have seen almost every aspect of guides, I have gone camping in all four seasons, rafted, canoed and hiked. I am sure there are a few more things that I have done in my life in the outdoors but they aren't sticking out in my mind right now.
